Should you be in the Minecraft documentary?
May 30, 2011

mc_dirt_640x960 Though the story of Minecraft’s development is unique, equally so are the stories of those who play the game.  They may take it to unexpected places and push the limits of its design; or they may find the game itself changing their lives in unexpected ways.

2 Player Productions is putting out an open call for Minecraft players to send us your personal stories about how the game has impacted your life.  These stories will be collected and considered for inclusion in “Minecraft: The Story of Mojang,” the new feature-length documentary in development by 2 Player Productions.

Please submit your story in 350 words or less to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Not all submissions will be used in the film, but they will be read and considered.

My Minecraft Story

I have been playing Minecraft since the Alpha version, and it has has changed the way I play games forever. It's funny how much it has impacted my life. Friends at school will come up to me and say, "Last night, me and this kid went 30-0 in our first person shooter game!". But yet I can turn around and say, "While you were doing that, I helped a group of friends build a floating sky fortress in Minecraft." and have them be in complete awe! Notch and Mojang have done something good for society, and for my life!

I started off on single player, following Seananners videos, for help. I watched his "How to survive your first day on minecraft" Video. Posted on Machinima. I built a starter house and worked my way up, and eventually built a "mansion" which wasnt really all that big.
After playing alot of single player, I joined a Multiplayer server, that was when I got totally glued to minecraft. Playing it in all of my possible free time. I became mates with most of the people on the server and talked to them on Xbox live. One day someone spawned "Steve" using multiplayer commands, and on my texture pack it made steve look like the Herobrine lie on youtube. Because I was a noobie I really thought this was the Herobrein and shat myself.

Minecraft is a totally amazing game, better than any other game I've ever played. Better than those Overrated FPS.
I have been playing it since 1.3

How Minecraft Changed my Life

Well, you see, I've been a loser for as long as I could remember. I was stuck playing some crappy game at school when my cousin told me there was this cool game. I really didn't see the point at first, and shrugged it off.

Then a month later, it came up again with one of my only friends. He told me to look this game up, so I went onto youtube and started watching vids like paulsoaresjr and coestar. This convinced me to buy the game.

Singleplayer is great and everything, but multiplayer is what I do. I had been a fan of this guy, RiskyGaming on youtube for a while and found out his friend had a public server, so I joined and had fun with the guys. I became friends with all the peeps on the server, and then killed others, and soon we started talking over skype and stuff. Now we're really tight friends.

Also, it improved my school life because now I have something to talk about at school! I swear, I walked into class the other day and I heard a kid humming C418. I want to thank you Notch personally, for imrpoving my life.

I've known about Minecraft for a good half year. I remember the beginning: My friend told me about him making a giant cactus farm. I thought, ooh, probably some other Facebook game. I ignored him and continued along on my winter vacation. I was bored one day, so I tried it out. It was only Beta 1.0.2, and I LOVED it. But, I still didn't really know how to play the game. When I searched up 'Minecraft' on Youtube, the first thing I found was SeaNanner's video tutorial on Minecraft. I watched the whole video, all 9 minutes and 47 seconds of it, and... words could not describe what I was feeling. I felt, that I had just found perhaps one of the BEST games in the world. The next day, 1.1 came out. I remember seeing the "Merry X-Mas!" on the side, and I felt that Notch was a very responsible, hardworking man.

As Minecraft progressed, I bought a calendar JUST for the Minecraft updates. It's right next to my computer, and it has all the memorable dates, 1.13.11, the release of 1.2, all the way up to 5.28.11, which was the release of update 1.6.5. I'm always ever waiting for the next update of Minecraft to come out, and I know Adventure Mode will probably come out in Patch 1.7. I am really excited for it, as I always have been.

Now, since my first day of Minecraft, I have built dozens of Minecraft calculators, RAM bits, and hundreds of tree, cactus, reed and wheat farms. I even have 2 private servers running on my computers at home, which allow all my friends and I to play together. I couldn't remember one time in my life when I was happier than I am now.

Minecraft have brought a happy future for me. Thank you, Notch.

It was only about 1 month ago when i started playing, i saw one of my friends play it all the time. I thought it was a baby game....i was wrong. So then i played Classic on the MineCraft.net website. I got very addicted, its better then Call of Duty. Then i wanted the real deal. So i bought it( 1.5.01),and it was EVEN better than classic. Me and my neighbor would play MP and make houses. But since 1.6, MP does not work. But Notch said he will fix it next week. If i never played this, my life would be soo boring. MineCraft made me like pixel games...so all i can say to Notch is...THANK YOU AND BEST GAME EVER!

Do the stories we submit have to be genuine or can we be a bit creative?
